Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport can be a chaotic scene of departures and arrivals with cars, buses, and taxis all competing for car park spots, pick ups, and drop offs, and with no train service to Melbourne city things can be quite confusing. We’d like to simplify the modes of transport available for any traveller arriving at Melbourne’s Airport for the first time.

Buses

The Skybus service runs 24 hours 7 days a week leaving every 10-20 minutes between Tullamarine Airport and Southern Cross Station. From Southern Cross Station, you will need to make your own way to your destinations. Star Bus operates a network that that is available to a more limited time between 6am and 6pm, 7 days a week that may take you to a few of Melbourne’s surrounding inner suburbs.

Train

There is no train service between Tullamarine Airport and Melbourne’s city centre at the moment, although there has occasionally surfaced news of a potential line to be built.

If you are absolutely dedicated to catching a train to the airport, you can catch the Craigieburn line train from Melbourne and get off at Broadmeadows station. Once here, you will need to board the 901 bus service that operates frequently between Melbourne Airport and Broadmeadows Station. Allow at least one hour for this whole journey.

Taxi

You will find designated taxi ranks located on the ground floor in front of each terminal at Melbourne Airport. Most taxi’s set you back up to $70-$80 just to get you into Melbourne’s city centre.

Premium Taxi’s & Limousine’s has a special offer on $65 Luxury Melbourne Airport Transfers. Includes booking fees and tolls from Melbourne CBD to Melbourne Airport.

This means you can get to the airport cheaper, on time, in comfort and in style.

For all Melbourne Airport Transfers we provide:

Professional native English speaking accredited drivers

Luxury sedans for small groups and families

Mercedes people movers for larger groups

Baby seats and/or booster seats for children

Large boots for your luggage, free of gas tanks

Bi-lingual driver on request

Melbourne is a world-renowned city and regarded as the cultural capital of Australia. You’ll find music, art, food, and more from around the world in its many streets, laneways and alley.

It’s only fitting that Melbourne also boasts some of the most artistic and intriguing hotels for those who love to experience the soul of a city such as Melbourne.

If you are such a person, then have a read through a few of our recommended boutique hotels designed for the creative and sophisticated at heart.

The Adelphi

Most Melbournians know the Adelphi as “that hotel with the rooftop pool” and it was a hit in the 90’s when its pared-back steel interior was at the height of fashion, a very popular party destination.

Since then it’s ownership has changed hands a few times until Iconic Hotels Group bought it and employed design agency Hachem to conceptualize a “dessert theme” throughout the restaurant and foyer resulting in luxuriant chocolate tones and velvety textures

The 34 Rooms are like staying in a groovy ‘Paul Raymond meets Vogue’ penthouse pad. The contemporary style and impressive foyers are further complimented by its world class Kitchen and Dessert Bar ‘Om Nom’.

The Olsen

The Olsen is a tribute to its designative artist John Olsen. This world acclaimed artist is unequalled in his contribution to print making and his artwork adorns every room within the hotel.

Based on Chapel Street, you will be greeted by murals, sculptures and prints everywhere you go in this magnificent building. Further to the boutique of this hotel is a day spa and two delicious restaurants.

The Royce

The Royce is a foodies dream with the hotel’s restaurant ‘Dish’ taking out the 2014 ‘Hotel Restaurant Of The Year’ at the TAA State Awards For Excellence. With its extensive range of modern Australian dishes complimented by a list of local and imported wines, your taste buds are sure to be treated well!

Located on St Kilda Road, This 5 star boutique hotel boasts views of Melbourne’s skyline and is walking distance from the Royal Botanical Garden, Shrine of Remembrance, Albert Park Lake, as well as Chapel Street and Melbourne CBD! Alongside its award winning Restaurant, the hotel also contains its classy chic bar ‘The Amberoom’, a unique experience for any traveller.
